Stop Payment of Cheque

You can put in a request to stop payment on a cheque that you have issued through NetBanking, PhoneBanking or by visiting a HDFC Bank branch.

Here’s how you can use NetBanking to put a stop payment on a cheque

  

Step 1 

  

Login to NetBanking using your NetBanking ID and Password 

  

Step 2 

  

Click on ‘Stop Payment of Cheque’ option under ‘Request’ menu on left hand side of page 

  

Step 3 

  

Select account number if there is more than one 

  

Step 4 

  

If you want to stop payment on a series of cheques, then enter cheque number of the first in the series and then the last cheque number. Give a reason for stopping the payment. For stop payment request on a single cheque, enter the cheque number in both the fields provided 

  

Step 5 

  

Click on ‘Continue’ 

  

Step 6 

  

On the next web page, verify and click on the ‘Confirm’ tab to complete the request

Step1 

  

Validate your Telephone Identification Number (TIN). This is a 4-digit number that is provided by HDFC Bank for accessing PhoneBanking Service
