It is a prepaid card with a minimum load of Rs 500 and maximum of Rs 10,000 and can be used for offline and online purchases. 

It is a great alternative to cash and gift vouchers, leads to no hassle of choosing a gift, and provides freedom of choice to the receiver to buy what they wish or desire.

4. What is the validity of the HDFC Bank Giftplus Prepaid Card? 

Giftplus card comes with a validity of upto 3 years.

6. Which Official Valid Documents (OVD) are required to apply for HDFC Bank Giftplus Prepaid card?  

New to Bank Customer: PAN Number will be required while applying for Giftplus Prepaid card. The system will validate the details shared. 

Existing to Bank Customer: Date of Birth/PAN Number will be required for validating with the bank database.  

Receiver’s documents are not required to apply for Giftplus Prepaid card 

7. Which details of the receiver (beneficiary) are required to apply for Giftplus Prepaid Card? 

Name, mobile number, email id and address (basis purchaser’s requirement) of the receiver are required to apply for GiftPlus Prepaid Card.

It is a one-time loadable prepaid card with a minimum load value of ₹500 and a maximum value of ₹10,000 

10. Where can HDFC Bank Giftplus Prepaid Card be used? 

HDFC Bank Giftplus Prepaid Card can be used at any merchant outlet (POS) and for online purchases on any Indian Ecom website for shopping, travel bookings, food delivery, and more. 

Cash withdrawals are restricted on this card. 

11. What is the TAT for card delivery post application? 

Personalized GiftPlus Prepaid Card will be couriered to customer’s registered address within 4 working days.

12. How to use the Giftplus Prepaid Card? 

Steps to use Giftplus Prepaid Card at any merchant outlet 

  • Swipe the card at the POS machine 
  • Enter PIN and done! 

Steps to use Giftplus Prepaid Card on any Ecom site 

  • At the checkout page on the Ecom site, select either Credit Card or Debit Card as payment option 
  • Enter the 16-digit card number and CVV [The CVV (Card Verification Value); 3-digit code on the backside of the card] 
  • Verify OTP received on registered mobile number and done!

14. What are the various modes to view the balance on the card? 

Users can view their card balance on Prepaid card portal, MyCards or by calling at the Phone Banking 1800 1600 / 1800 2600. 

15. Are the POS and Ecom transactions enabled by default? 

Yes, POS and Ecom transactions are enabled by default. It is a ready-to-use card. 

16. Are there any transaction alerts sent for HDFC Bank Giftplus Prepaid Card? 

Yes, transaction alerts will be sent to the receiver's registered mobile number. 

(Receiver's mobile number registered at the time of card application) 

Receivers have the convenience of tracking their transactions anytime through the Prepaid Card Portal or MyCards. 

17. Can I use Giftplus prepaid card outside India? 

No, the card can be used on Indian Ecom sites and at the merchant outlets (POS) within India. 

18. What needs to be done if the card is lost or stolen? 

If the card is lost or any fraudulent transactions are observed, the same needs to be immediately reported to HDFC Bank. 

Block/hotlist the card immediately through the Prepaid Card Portal, MyCards, or call Phone Banking at 1800 1600 or 1800 2600. 

19. What should be done if the card is expired? 

The customer can make a request to reissue the card. The balance will be transferred in the new card provided; requisites documents are shared.  

20. What should be done if the card is inactive for a period of 12 months? 

As per RBI guidelines, the cards with no financial transaction for a consecutive period of 12 months shall be made inactive by the bank after sending a notice to the card holder.  

If inactive, the card will be temporarily blocked. To unblock, visit Prepaid Card Portal, MyCards, or call Phone Banking at 1800 1600 or 1800 2600.
