HDFC Bank Plants More Than 6,000 Trees in Zirakpur

​​​​​​​Chandigarh, October 12, 2024:
HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank has taken a significant step towards environmental conservation by planting 6,000 trees in Gazipur Urban Garden, Zirakpur. This initiative is part of the Treevolution project, showcasing the Bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

The plantation drive was led by Mr. Jaswinder Singh, State Head – Operations, HDFC Bank and Mr. Vishal Kandwal - Commandant – CRPF, 5 Signal Bn with the collective goal of creating a greener, healthier urban environment for future generations. Other dignitaries present at the launch event included Mr. Gurharminder Singh, Joint Director, Directorate of Environment & Climate Change, Government of Punjab, Mr. Manav Jain, Municipal Town Planner PMIDC, Mr Ashok Pathria, Executive Officer - Municipal Corporation Zirakpur and other senior officials from HDFC Bank.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Jaswinder Singh, State Head – Operations, HDFC Bank said, “Environment protection and conservation is one of the key focus areas under Parivartan. We believe in fostering sustainable growth not just in the financial sector but also in the ecosystem we live in. Through the Treevolution project, we aim to make a long-lasting impact by increasing green cover and improving air quality in urban areas.”

The key focus areas under the Bank’s flagship CSR program Parivartan includes care for climate, rural development, education, skill development, healthcare & hygiene, and financial literacy.
