HDFC Bank gives its customers the option to increase their Credit Card limit or opt for an upgrade on their existing Credit Card. You can either increase the limit of your current Credit Card or upgrade Credit Card to the next level.
HDFC Bank offers its Credit Card upgrade or enhancement options to those customers, who are eligible for these options as per the terms and policies of the bank. Before you apply for a Credit Card upgrade, be sure to check if you are eligible for an upgrade using our NetBanking facility or Mobile Banking app. You qualify for an upgrade or enhancement only if you have used the Credit Card for at least six months.
How to upgrade Credit Card limit:
- Periodic revisions: Depending on your Credit Card usage, the bank revises its Credit Card limits. If you have a good credit history, you become eligible for HDFC Bank's latest offers on Credit Card enhancements. In such cases, the bank will approach the customer for a Credit Card upgrade or limit enhancement. If you are eligible, you will receive a callback or SMS regarding the latest offers on your Credit Card. You can confirm your acceptance to the upgrade or limit enhancement on the same call. Ask about the charges and annual fees on the new card.
- Avail offers: If you are eligible for a Credit Card upgrade, you will get an automatic notification. Alternatively, you can log in to HDFC Bank NetBanking facility or Mobile Banking app to check the offers available on your Credit Card. Click on the Credit Card tab to see the offers. You can apply for an upgrade through NetBanking or Mobile Banking. If you are eligible for a Credit Card upgrade, your application is processed, and a new card is issued to you. You can choose the type of card at the time of application.
- Customer care: If you are unaware of the offers regarding your Credit Card upgrade, you can call HDFC Bank's customer care service. You can ask for all the offers available on your Credit Card and raise a request for an upgrade or enhancement of limit. You can also write to the bank and request an upgrade of your Credit Card. Download the 'Credit Card Upgrade/ Limit Enhancement Form', fill it up and email it to HDFC Bank. Along with your application, attach copies of your income proof. The application can either be dropped in any of the HDFC Bank dropboxes in ATMs or emailed to HDFC Bank Cards Division, PO BOX Number 8654, Thiruvanmiyur P.O. Chennai-600041.
