The encryption technology of a chip card, which secures the card against fraudulent use. This card offers greater security by storing & processing information in a secure manner. This advanced technology is more effective in preventing the card from being copied to product counterfeit cards.
- Get 1 Cashback point on every ₹ 100 spent on Telecom, Utilities.
- Get 1 Cashback point on every ₹ 200 spent on Groceries, Supermarket, Restaurant, Apparels & Entertainment
- Maximum cap of ₹ 750 per account per month
- No Cashback points for all other categories apart from the one above.

- In case purchase / transaction is returned / cancelled / reversed, Cashback points toward posted towards transactions will be reversed.
- Cashback points need to be redeemed through NetBanking minimum 250, no maximum capping on redemption subject to availability.
- Customer can view the points in NetBanking in 2 working days from the date of transaction.
- Cashback Points are earned on eligible Merchant Category Codes (MCC).
- MCCs are categorised basis the nature of business by card Networks (Visa/ Mastercard)
- Credit Card BillPay transactions made through Debit Card will NOT earn any CashBack points with immediate effect as this is not an eligible category for the same.
Product feature Cashback points will be valid for redemption within the next 12 months after which your Cashback points will lapse.
All promotional Cashback points earned on your Debit Card will have a validity of 3 months, post which the accumulated points will expire effective February 2020.

- Daily Domestic Shopping limits: ₹ 5 lacs
- Daily Domestic ATM withdrawal limits: ₹ 1 lac
- Cash withdrawal facility can now be availed across merchant establishments with a maximum upper limit of ₹ 2,000/ day on your HDFC Bank Debit Cards, maximum Cash at POS limit per month is of ₹ 10,000/-
Please login to NetBanking to change (increase or decrease) the limit* on your Debit Card to suit your needs. Please note the limits can be increased up to the Permissible limits on your Debit Card.
*For Security reasons, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹ 0.5 Lakhs per day and ₹ 10 Lakhs per month for first 6 months from Account opening date. For accounts older than 6 months, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹ 2 Lakhs per day and ₹ 10 Lakhs per month. This is implemented with immediate effect.

The following are included in the insurance covers

- For any Claims under Fire & Burglary Insurance/ Loss of checked baggage Insurance to be accepted & processed, the cardholder should have carried out at least 1 purchase transaction using the Debit Card, within 3 months prior to the event date.
- In the event the Insured Person(s) having multiple Cards issued by the Insured named in the Schedule, the Insurance Policy shall be applicable only for the Card, which has the highest Sum Insured / limit of Indemnity.
- Effective 1st July 2014, all Debit Card holders are required to use their Debit Card at retail OR on-line stores at least once every 30 days to keep the free Personal Death Insurance cover on their Debit Card active
- Zero Liability: You will not have any liability to any fraudulent Point of Sale transactions on the debit card, which take place upto 30 days prior to reporting the card loss. Click here for more details.
- If an account holder has 2 cards on the same account which is eligible for insurance cover- then the lower of the insurance amount offered as a feature on the card will be paid out

The HDFC Bank Debit Card is enabled for contactless payments, facilitating fast, convenient and secure payments at retail outlets.
To see if your Card is contactless, look for the contactless network symbol on your Card. You can use your Card to make quick transactions at merchant locations accepting contactless Cards.

Please note that in India, payment through contactless mode is allowed for a maximum of ₹ 5000 for a single transaction where you are not asked to input your Debit Card PIN. However, if the amount is higher than or equal to ₹ 5000, the Card holder must enter the Debit Card PIN for security reasons.
Effective 1st January 2018, Fuel Surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on HDFC Bank swipe machines on government petrol outlets (HPCL/IOCL/BPCL).

As per RBI guidelines RBI/2019-2020/142 DPSS.CO.PD No. 1343/02.14.003/2019-20 dated 15th January 2020, all Debit Cards issued effective 1st Oct' 2020, are or will be enabled only for Domestic usage (PoS & ATM) and disabled for Domestic (E-commerce & contactless) and International usage.
