HDFC Bank opens its first all-women branch in Kerala

• HDFC Bank now has a total of 245 branches in Kerala 

Calicut, August 17, 2022: HDFC Bank, India’s leading bank, today announced the opening of its first all-women branch in Kerala at Calicut. The branch, located in Cherootty Road, the hub of traders in Calicut, will have 4 women bankers. This adds to all-women branches opened by the Bank in southern India. It takes forward the bank’s inherent values of diversity and inclusion. The branch was inaugurated by Dr. Beena Philip, Hon’ble Mayor of Corporation of Calicut.  

Other dignitaries from the bank present during the inauguration ceremony of 245th branch in the Kerala State were Mr. Somesh Nambiar, Circle Head, Kerala; Mr. Abhilash Nair, Cluster Head, Kerala.  

HDFC Bank is driving diversity and inclusion within the organization with a special focus on enhancing gender diversity. As on March 31, 2022, women constituted 21.7 per cent of the workforce and the target is to increase it to 25 per cent by 2025.
