The Beginning
I belong from Lehdo Village in Leh district and have always been passionate about apricot farming. With my 78 trees, I have dedicated years to cultivate these delicious apricot fruits. However, traditional drying methods limited my annual income to just Rs. 45,000.
The Challenge
The traditional drying methods were inefficient and led to subpar quality. This hindered my ability to fetch a premium price for apricots. Consequently, my income remained stagnant, limiting my ability to invest in the farm and improve my family's quality of life.
The Partnership of Success
A turning point came when I received a Solar Apricot Dryer from HDFC Bank Parivartan and joined the Apricot Farmer Producer Organization (FPO). This innovative technology significantly improved the quality of my apricots. I was able to command a premium price for my high-quality produce.
